"My government did this"

Downtown Beirut has to be one of the most eye-opening landscapes out there. These shots are from a few summers ago, I love the barren wasteland vibe they give off, sadly the thing they do best is portray exactly what happens when you allow corruption to run free in your nation. What you're seeing in these shots isn't just an area reduced by an explosion, it's the culmination of years and years of lies, mismanagement, negligence, and power-hungry corruption. What followed the explosion was not only a collapse of Lebanon's healthcare system but also a complete collapse of the economy and quality of life. Though it isn't all doom and gloom for Lebanon, the Times may be tough, especially now with the current world events, however, I still have hope, what else can I do? Ever since I was little I've had the dream to serve my country, I want (now more than ever) to join the army as a combat medic and protect my land from a certain sh#t stain down south. But that'l always just be a dream.
